the review at the missing basics

As living in the constantly changing world , the flat world, it’s hard to accomplish great achievements just by applying the science which we obtained in class. The 21st-century is full of innovation, power , and boosting technics. with the great internet, the frequency of changing could be more rapid. So , how do we be a great engineer in this age?
We can not neglect the very importance of science, the basic rules of nature. But the science could not be applied and presented and successful without the missing basics.. science is just basic framework, there are lots of things going against textbook , this unpredictable property of reality require us to be more professional about how to solve questions in the real world, which is not going work without those missing basics.
So, what is the missing basics? - The ability to ask , the ability to label , the ability to model, the ability to decompose, and the ability to measure, the ability to visualize, and the ability to communicate. Only to obtain those abilities, could we eventually totally apply what we have learned in class instead of knowing much but doing little.
