Subject: question about proficiency test
hi, professor Murphy.
i'm a student from your class ,i have some quick problems for your suggestions.
i feel the math 220 class is sort of easy for me , because i have studied all those basic theories and knew how to use them. so i 'm thinking about attending the proficiency test which is on oct.9th. if i could pass it , do you think i should continue to stay in your class or move to the upper level?

i've got some good suggestions , he told me to decide it by my own feeling, if i feel i could totally cope with math220 , it's ok to take higher level class.

take initiatives
my story happend on a special night. it's a prom held by CSSA chinese student social associtation. i was pretty dressed up with my fancy suit and head to the place with my firends . the party is fun and full of beautiful ladies dressed up. through the crowd i saw a beautiful lady fit my taste. however , i' a really kind of shy guy who will not take the first step to social with somebody i meet for the first time. but from what we learned , we have to take initiatives to expand our networking. i finally made up my mind and stepped on to her.
i asked for a dance and she seemed kind of embarrassed (neither of us can actually dance). we have to try our best to follow the music and dance with it. it's kind of hard and awkward. so i started some topic with her like what's you major, something boring but normal people say when they meet for the first time.
it turns out that she's a sophomore here and older than me . we sat down at chiars around the room began to talk.
she tought me a lot of things like the campus safety and how she come over the tough first fremen year. as well some valuable suggestion . kind of feel pleased and comfort to have a beautiful lady expressing me some information and great stories about her. the awkwardness were gone and the atomsphere got warm and light.
i really learned a lot of useful information and some first-hand experience which i might have in this campus. really a good night!
